WNY Girls Fall 7's hosted by Orchard Park Rugby

In an effort to grow the game in NY and High School 7's in Western New York in particular, Orchard Park Girls Rugby invited established 7's sides from neighboring Pennsylvania and Ohio and felllow RugbyNY sides to a joint day of training and 7's matches.

Unfortunately, the Ohio sides were unavailable as it was the first week of the RugbyOHIO 7's season, but Doylestown and Moon Area/West Pittsburg from PA joined WNY area teams City Honors, Hamburg, Kenmore, and hosts Orchard Park for an exciting (and soggy) day of 7's rugby.

"The girls shared the pitch and made memories and connections with fellow ruggers which was the real goal of the day. We hope to develop an Upstate Fall 7's season and to make this an annual event." - Orchard Park Girls Rugby Head Coach Glenn Nenoff

Despite the rain, over 70 girls participated in the day's matches with everyone playing multiple games, including two rookie matches featuring first year players, and teams sharing players throughout the day. After the games, the teams shared a post-match social.

Congratulations to everyone who made the day a success, especially to Coach Nenoff and Orchard Park Girls Rugby for being such generous hosts.
